For precautionary measures I need to store some files. I don't have any money on me right now so storage will need to be free and reliable.

Floppy disks. Hundreds of them.

Or you could always burn them onto a CD/DVD

Gov computers, esp ones setup for Top Secret, have many locks on them and also not allowed to use any outside item on it, including a floppy disc or any other storage device.

He never said he was supposed to be doing what he's doing... Maybe he has physically "hacked the mainframe" God I hate that phrase! :D

If you have an iPod, you can use that as an external harddrive. Many people don't know this. Just saying (you probably know this, but eh).

If not, use a game console's harddrive for temporary backup.

These are alternatives to just burning to DVD or something.
