I need a PIII, 600 MHz processor.........

........anyone know of a good place to find one? It needs to be a Slot 1, 100 FSB, 512KB. I'm running into prices of around $225 delivered! Yikes!! There's got to be a better way. Thank you.

Since they don't make that chip anymore, and haven't made slot 1 processors for a long time, you're pretty much out of luck. All the prices I could find were around what you found. Try the for sale forum, someone might be trying to sell one.

edit: You could also buy a socket 370 p3-600 for less money, and then get a slotket adapter.

You might want to check out Ebay as you can usually find old hardware there.. However, if you decide to purchase from Ebay, make sure you always do your homework and get the CORRECT item, ask about guarantees, shipping/handling costs, etc..

Agreed . . . it will be easier to get a Socket 370 Processor and a Slocket.
