i need a cheap printer, my lexmark x5270 just cramped out. anything new out there for cheap?? ~$50?

There are numerous threads in the Peripherals section discussing the merits of printers - this one belongs there too.

What I would recommend is the Canon iP4300. Of current production printers it is hard to beat for purchase price and TCO as clone ink tanks are now available. I have seen it for as low as $70. after rebate over the last month or so and has been pretty steady at $90 shipped from the Egg. Most anything cheaper has integrated head, small ink volume cartridges which are very expensive over the long term unless you are willing to refill the carts yourself. Brother has some pretty inexpensive AIOs with separate passive ink tanks but the printed output is not as good as the majors'.

Check the big box store circulars for exclusive rebate promos on the iP4300.
