I need a new monitor...

...but I'm pretty much clueless as to what to get. Primarily games, web surfing and minimal image editing. I guess the most important thing is that it looks good with games, 17" (might consider 19" if it's a really good price, I'm in Canada btw).

I would do a search the best 17 and 19 inch monitors has been discussed to death over the last several months, usually in the general hardware section. The bottom line is monitors are a very personal choice. I would go to some local stores and see what you like. Besides paying shipping on a monitor is a killer. Personally I am looking to buy the Hitachi Superscan 771 (19 inch flat monitor) but it is still a couple of months before I have the money put together so I may still change my mind.

If you are looking for a deal keep on eye on this website, it's out of Vancouver: www.atic.ca. It's not a great website but they have some good deals. Last week I saw a 17" Viewsonic E70 (I think) for C$220.
