I have asus A7V133 266 FSB with the VIA Apollo KT133 A Chipset. Ever since I have installed WIn XP I get the infinate loop problem, its driving me crazy, and I have read that it is because of the mobo, and XP knocking heads.
Here are my specs: 1.4ghz AMD T-Bird
asus mobo
512mb pc133 ram
Geforce 3 Ti-500
SB Audigy
What would be a good mobo to get that supports this, and supports DDR. And what do you think I could get for my mobo, and ram? Thanks Patrick

Haven't read any stuff out there about this prob, but I'm sure there is a work around of some kind.

Anyhow, if you want real cheap and possibly the ability to stick w/ your SDRAM until DDR comes down again some, look at ECS K7S5A.

If you want pretty cheap, but don't like ECS or SIS, try Shuttle AK31.

Beyond that there are plenty of people who will tell you why to go either Epox 8KHA or Soyo Dragon.

Ouch...infinite loop?

Heck I have the same mobo....running a 1.0 Tbird @ 1.2 rock stable.
I am running ME right now but am planning on installing XP this weekend.
Hope the same doesn't happen to me!

I never experience the infinite loop on the A7V133. But now I changed it for the A7V266-E and has the problem. Until now, it just gonne just by installing VIA 4in1. After the mobo change Win XP PRO reverts all my drivers to MS editions, you know no OpenGL on nVidia based cards, every mobo driver were retetected in the change of mobos, no popus apears on screen, just take a lot of time to reboot, and enters in VGA mode finally.
So the Infinite loop apears after 1 hour of using the thing (after reistalling nVidia's Detonator last version).
I began to search the Internet and when I read that some guy have the problem on a Pentium II with a 440BX board I get really worried. But after reading other post in the forum found people that get rid of the issue by installing the latest VIA 4.in1 4.73a (I believe) and raicing the AGP slot strength to DA or something. Anyway I decided to install just the Via thing for start, and until today (2 days since the last issue), it seems to be gone. I'll post if it shows again.
I'm using the WinXP OEM version, no activation thing.

Is the error the nvdisp error?? It's a known problem with the 23.11 drivers. If that's the problem go back and use the official 21.83 drivers.
