I need a new mid tower

I've been using a really old (and small) mid tower case for a while now and I'm sick of it. I need something a bit nicer and spacier.

Features wise I want:

-good airflow
-good cable management
-relatively quiet. Doesn't have to be silent, just not loud.
-Tool less drive mounting would be nice

I'm not a stickler about cosmetics. I'm fine with a few pretty lights, and on the flip side I can also appreciate a sleek plain matte case. Just as long as it doesn't look totally fugly.

I don't want to spend more than $150 (new or used)

I've been looking at the HAF 922. I'm not sold on it. I'm worried about noise.

Thanks

mid tower for 150?

Theres a lot.

CM690II is great..
There are some lower end Lian Li's which will fit that budget.
Same with silverstone.
Antec P180 series, and P185 series is also great.

Yeah, you should also give some Lian Li's a looksee. It's just from my experience the 690II was pretty easy to work with, and it fits everything you want. On top of that, it's priced nicely. Unfortunately, I've never been blessed with working on an Antec P18X. I usually work on gaming rigs, and they don't give a damn about silence. The sound of guns and grenades will cover it up :D. I know quite a few people with the 18X series though, and they say it's a beautiful case. I especially like how it looks. Very modest.

EDIT: Scythe GT's are the best. I just had to throw this in for aigo. SPREAD THE WORD?

Yeah, I have a Lian-Li (PC-65 model in Silver) that is about six years old. Airflow is solid, especially since I replaced a few fans. With a side window, cable management is important and there is enough room to hide the cables and show off the hardware.

After owning this case, I will never go with anything but a Lian-Li. Not that other cases are not great, but this case performs great, looks awesome and fits perfectly where I need it.

Good luck.

Lian Li PC7FNW/PC60FNW.
Nice, brushed aluminum with a side window. Also available without windows if you want. One LED fan that is removable, but its not garish by any means imo. Helps you determine whether or not the computer is on lol, it's also rather silent. Lots of vibration dampeners included, completely tool-less, vents everywhere, good cable management, fan filters, etc. Space for most everything I think as well, and you can't beat brushed aluminum in terms of dissipating heat + the very light weight. Oh it also looks classy, and no cheap swinging doors (I hate those). Lian Li quality is legendary.
Will cost you around $120.

Lots of nice pics there. There's also the newer PC7FNWX/PC60FNWX version that sport a brushed aluminum all black interior (none of that painted crap), even better cable management on the bottom of the case + PSU mounting, USB 3.0 ports, and space for an additional optional fan, amongst numerous other design/thermal/noise changes. Anti-fire air filters LOL. Good stuff. A lot of their newer cases have a lot of these newer features that the 'X' branded models have, so yeah take a look around.

FNWX series (7 version)

Should be priced around the same as the FNWs.

PCX900 (new model, a ton of fans, more lights but yea). An interesting, innovative case layout as well, new this year I believe. Tons of anti-vibration features (silence). Heck they even included a fan controller. Has the 'X' series features as well.

edit/
turns out the PCX900 will be priced upwards of $400. Nevermind lol.

I would recommend the Antec Nine Hundred two (902). It is a very similar case to the Antec 1200 but smaller. It has excellent airflow and good cable management. The Antec 902 is pretty big for a mid-tower, it fits video cards up to 16" which is plenty of room for an Nvidia 470, 480, ATI 5850,5870 and even a 5970.

Best of all, its currently on sale at newegg for $90 After rebate.

Another case I would recommend is our soon to be released DF-85 (which is a gaming case). The DF-85 is very similar to the Antec 1200 but with more added features like the fleet swap drives and 2.5" sata swappable bay. It is a full tower case so it will basically fit almost all CPU coolers/video cards you put in it.

We should be releasing the DF-85 along with DF-30 (similar to Antec 900) and Lanboy Air sometime next month.
