I need a new inkjet printer.

My Epson CX8400 bit the dust right as my 18 cartridge order from SwiftInk arrived. So, if it uses Epson 69 ink that is a plus... but perhaps there's something better out there and I can return this shipment.

I don't need an all-in-one and actually would prefer not to have one. I plan on using this computer networked with Mac and PC's so solid support in Windows Vista and Leopard is necessary. Wireless isn't a requirement but it would be a nice addition. The same goes for DVD printing.

So, what can you recommend, preferably with $5.99/cartridge ink from SwiftInk?

Well your ordering a large quantity of replacement ink kind of forces you to stay with epson. I recently replaced my cx9400fax because it ate through ink like nobody's business. The original died at 6 months however the replacement seemed to be doing ok otherwise. It was horribly slow when printing color pages. Goodluck with whatever you decide to get.

I recently went back to hp, cm2320nf color laserjet mfp and the original was defective in the box, I have a whole thread on it. If you hadn't bought ink I'd tell you to get a laser printer, the speed is fantastic plus they don't eat through toner as fast as the inkjets go through ink.

I've been given the go-ahead for a refund on the ink so I don't need to stay with Epson for the new purchase. I don't print in a very high volume so I don't think i would benefit much from a laser printer.
