I need a new hobby

Something social and makes me get out.

Golf is starting to look more attractive - good for networking too I presume.

Golf can be a very good hobby, provided you can get off the tee.

Being able to drive is the single most important aspect of recreational golf. If you can't drive nobody decent will want to play with you.

Miniture golf the key is being able to swing as many beers as the club and shooting for the open window in the car going down the highway by Miniature Golf.

Take Salty's turtle with you, it needs to get out too. Might slow your game down though. IMO not really a bad thing.

Some friends & i used to go out on the weekends to play a round. Started out great but evolved into someone having to be somewhere else at a certain time so we had to hurry up & play.
I enjoyed it for the casual, laid back time to relax & have fun with my friends. Got to be more of an annoyance have to hurry all the time.
This was before golf got super popular here. Now you have people pushing you to hurry all the time, whether it's the group behind you or the rangers roaming the courses.

Golf is fun though. Don't let it frustrate you.

i love golf. been playing it since my teens when i realized that i wasn't gonna be able to play baseball forever.

unrelated back pain, transportation issues and COVID kept me off the course for the last couple of summers, but i need to get back out there next spring.

Golf is a good hobby but can get very expensive, very fast. I just picked it up because in sales it's an easy go-to customer networking event, plus you get to drink. You can buy a set of hand me down clubs that are reasonably modern (last decade) for $200 or so, then spend a few hundred on a couple of golf lessons to get the basics down (swing, mechanics, etc) and then a lot of money on just practicing at the driving range and cheap courses.

If you get into it though, it's easy to dish out a couple thousand on a brand new set of clubs, equipment, etc.

Join the anti faxxer movement. More people are injured by fax machines yearly than by sharks, and corporations continue to insist on continuing the use of these dangerous machines. Find a club near you and participate in protests.
