For just storage, get one of those 5400rpm 80 gig monsters. Decent performance and cheap.

Check out the Hot Deals Forum and do a search on hard drives. I believe there are some nice prices.

Maxtor 5400rpm 80G HD. you don't need performance of the 7200rpm drive. and that Maxtor HD cost about $230-$250..

I agree... a Maxtor is the best for the money.... I have a Maxtor 30GB 5400 for my MP3s and other stuff.... dont need to spend the money on a 7200 for a drive only used to store MP3s and downloads etc.. Same with my server... doesnt hit the disk alot so I just tossed a 20GB 5400 Maxtor in it.

I'd agree with the majority of the people who replied. For just pure storage (not moving a lot of big files around very often) just get a Maxter 5400 80gb.

i'm going to use the two 45 gig WD 5400rpm drives that i got from compusa a while back for $50 each...$100 for 90gigs of mp3's was a sweet deal. i think you can get these drives now for about $100 each.
