Well, I hope you find the car you are looking for. 🙂

As Rallispec stated definitely consider Mazda Protege5 if you are looking at Proteges. I own one and it is a blast to drive yet practical. The new Mazda 3 is around the corner so you may find a really good deal.

That list IMHO is still a bit too long, you might want to compare practicality/design/safety/resale value and narrow down to about 5.

Thanks, all the research on what cars on the list have been done from 11:20 when i started this thread and my search online to now at 1:30ish. So of course the list is raw and quite large. Those cars were pulled from out of the courner of my brain and the pro / cons according to edmunds. i don't know why i didn't have more mazda's on the list but definately something to consider.

If I had no money problems and this car was actually going to be in production soon i would get the new mustang concept which looks like the old old mustang. I don't care how slow/fast it goes i just love the way it looks and i'm not a big mustang fan.

When I was looking for a car half 9 months ago, my max price was 18k.

I test drove most sedans and coupes in that range and decided on 03 Civic LX.

Since your max is 25k, i would definatly get WRX with that.

RSX typeS is nice as well, but I like WRX more. Fit and finish of RSX is much better tho. And RSX has tigher handling.

Protege5 was good and has great design and exterior but its power was SERIOUSLY lacking and felt sluggish.

Go test drive the cars 🙂

you cant go wrong with RSX or WRX

accord ex-v6
mazda 6
acura rsx

a decked out sentra wouldnt be bad but i think the current altima is ugly as hell though not quite as bad as the maxima

i would definitely go for a used 2000 or 2K1 maxima SE if you are considering an altima or maxima

the new accords aren't that great looking either still i think they are miles ahead of the newest nissans but I wouldnt dismiss a 2K1 or 2K2 fully loaded accord ex-v6 sedan just because it isnt brand new

baseline 350z's run close to 25K i think nice if you don't mind a 2-seater

i think the Mazda 6 or a 2001/2002 loaded accord would be my 2 favorites

I know you have had problems with used cars but I would not discount them totally
a used lexus IS300 / GS300 would be a very nice car as well

so i went to the Nissan dealership today and checked out the Altima. It looked ok and the L series was ~20k so thats a possiblility. I still have to check out the accord, and some of mazda's and mitsus stuff.
