This is my new baby:

Eyepieces, barlow lens, filter, collimation cap:

I've used it a few times and got some nice views of the Moon, Saturn (and 3 of its moons), Jupiter (and 4 of its moons), Mars, Venus, plus some double stars, star clusters, and very faint nebulas. No galaxies yet, though, due to severe light pollution in NYC. I need to take this beauty upstate to a dark place.

I need a name for it. I just can't decide on which name would be appropriate. What does ATOT say?

I second Skylar. It just sounds cool, and it can be traced back back to *scholar.*

Nice scope.

Not sure about this fascination with naming inanimate objects though. I run into this on a motorcycle board I spend time at too. Half the people there have names for their bike...I don't get it.

Nah.. it would sound weird if I said "I've got a date with Skyquest."

actually...it just sounds weird if you say "I've got a date with [insert name of my goddamn fucking telescope]."

I'd assume you were being facetious, but then you are always super serious.
