My friend?s computer recently malfunctioned. After taking it to a local Circuit City store for it to be examined, the technician told him that his motherboard was fried. He bought his pc from Alienware approximately 3 years ago, and after calling them to find out if they could sell him the exact same motherboard, they told him that they did not sell individual components!!!!! His original mother board was an Intel D 850GB; unfortunately, he was not able to find any store selling that same motherboard. So he had to call Alienware again just to check if they would suggest any other motherboard for his system. They did. They suggested an Asus P4t 533-c. However, I am not really sure if this is the right motherboard with the right chipset for his system.
His system components are the following:
Intel Pentium 4 1.8 or 1.9 Ghz
Geforce 3 Ti???
PNY rambus 800 non-ecc ram I think around 500 MB
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
