I need a lot of help...

Well, I am starting to look for components to build a new computer. I have built one in the past with help from a friend, and truly enjoyed it. I was fairly poor at the time and built the whole thing for $1200 w/o monitor or OS.

I am looking to build a top end gaming PC for myself. The components I have been looking at are:

Mobo
CPU
RAM
2xVPU256 or 2xVPU512
PSU
Case

The rest of the components I'll salvage from my old PC.

I am looking for any comments or concerns you have about the components I'm looking at.

ditch the cpu, ram, video cards and get yourself a nice 4000+ or 3000 if you're oc'ing, even though you should wait for dual core. any value ram like ocz, corsair, blah blah blah would work just as good as that one unless you're oc'ing, but they still oc well. and get something like a 6800gt or wait for the g70's/r520's. use the saved money to get a huge 30" lcd. well the saved money wont meet cost of one but oh well. the psu should be fine but a 600w seasonic would be fun to have as an alternative.

That's what I built my last PC for. I graduated college a bit ago, and am working a "real" job now so money isn't tight.

Oh ok now I got you I thought you were going to get an FX and 6800Ultra with a $1200 dollar budget. I wish I was you were money isn't tight. LMAO I still will settle with my gaming rig.

how much do you want to spend, are you overclocking, and do you really think that thermaltake case looks good?

oh and dear god don't waste your money on a 512mb ultra.

if the case is his own interest then leave it be. the choice of case is one's own personal preference as long as it has proper cooling design

Also the new Video cards will be relesed soon. Wait till the FX-57 and G-70's are out. Also go with the XMS Xpert RAM if money isnt tight. You know the ones with the LED Display.

Well, the case and the 512Mb cards are the least nailed down items I have.

The PSU is up for grabs as well, and since new CPU's and Graphics Cards are coming soon, I guess the only thing that I'm pretty set on is the Motherboard, and the RAM.

I don't think I really need those. I am looking for performance more than bells and whistles...

Thanks for the tips folks. I guess I need to do a little more research. Also, anyone else with comments or recommendations please post them. Thanks in advance.
