I need a little Photoshop Help (It's a document I'm scanning in)

Hey peeps.

I don't have the Scanner Software, but I need to scan in a Letter of Reccomendation into Word. I can scan it into Photoshop (7.0), and do this to try to "sharpen", otherwise it looks blurry.

Anyone have any ideas on how to make the letters more "crisp" or detailed in Photoshop. I CAN scan it straight into Word, but that doesn't give me much options to play around with it.

I would appreciate any help you guys might have.

You need some kind of OCR software.....why dont you scan it in and save it as a PDF? try scanning at a higher DPI

Yeah, I wish I had the OCR software, any good freeware you all would reccomend?

And I don't want to do PDF, cuz it needs to be appended with another Word Document.

Scan it at some ungodly huge DPI, then shrink it down.
