Got any specs on the file?
Windows Media Player can't open it, and Goldwave can't identify the format.

It's a wav file. Almost any media player can play it. If you are having problems, try the (almost) guaranteed solution: Media Player Classic (OGG, OGM, Real, MOV, almost any file plays on it)

Your best bet is to download ACE's mega codec pack professional and it includeds media player classic. When you install it, choose the Hyper Install option.

Also check you volume control on your system tray (or control panel). Make sure that your WAV volume is turned up all the way and is not on mute.

I don't think it's from any episode. The "peace" and "d'oh" seem out of place, like they were chopped in. The message itself may be from one of the Tracy Ulman sketches, but I doubt it very much

I found this one on the website, it's hilarious:

"640K of computer memory ought to be enough for anybody."
- Bill Gates, 1981

p.s. I saw the quotes in someone's sig before. Anyway, that's like half of a standard 3.5... floppy disk!

I had just wanted to know specs though - 44.1KHz? Mono or stereo? Once I have that, I can get Goldwave to open the file. If it doesn't know what the input file is (since this file isn't identifying its specs to Goldwave), then I just get a lot of really loud static.

Well this explains things. The file from Freeaudioclips.com was just an html page, with a wav extension. The putfile page worked though.

Can't say I've ever heard this particular audio sampling before.

For the record, it is 11,025Hz, mono.

The free audio clips page worked for a while, but I think they added a redirect after a few too many unauthorized referrals.
