My nemisis used to be costco. That place could suck a 100$ bill through a 400 pack of coffee filters, without damaging either one:p
Somehow, lately I have tapped into the ancient power of the Schwartz to hold the spending demons at bay.

I cant go to Wal-Mart without dropping $100. Which of course is loads better than Mrs. Sluggo, who cant hit Wal-Mart without dropping $200

Do not under any circumstances let me loose in the Sears Hardware department with a credit card or a large amount of cash!

Nope, I go to the store because I've been starving all day and need to stock up and I buy a bag of pistachios, a quart of milk and park in front of city hall and listen to Art Bell or Ray Taliaferro in the middle of the night. I just can't seem to get interested in past or future hunger with a bag full of pistachios in my possession.

I used to do the exact same thing till I got mugged. Now I rush home and hide in my house.

LOL! If you're lucky enough to have a Trader Joe's market in your area, I call it the place I go to go broke saving money. :) They have great deals on quality cheeses, wines, nuts, and a bunch of name brand and privately labeled food items.

Here's where you can feed your TJ's addiction, Jean. ;)

Oh heck yes. I do this a lot when I go shopping with a fresh paycheck in the checking account.

I make a shopping list before going out to shop so I don't have any problems with forgetting or overbuying.(<-- Wish I had :()
When I purchase something I mark it as purchased on my list.

I know the feeling. It's like, when you go to buy something that is $5-$10, you feel the need to buy more to justify going there in the first place. Especially when there is a line at the checkout.

Least thats the way it is with me.
