If you were closer to Silicon Valley, you could get plenty of jobs. From what I understand, Sacramento is also a good place to find work.

I would suggest signing up with a headhunting firm or two and getting them to pound the pavement for you plus checking the various help wanted websites (monster, hotjobs, etc.).

Do you have a university degree or any certifications? That would help?

You can be my slave, it doesn't pay well, there are no benefits, but its very rewarding.

Yeah any certifications or degree would be helpful. If not, try going to a specialized school like Devry or Heald or something to get a quick 2 year degree and when you come out you should have a stable IT job i assume.

If you do have a certification or degree then definately write up a resume and post it on sites such as monster.com. PLUS there are TONS of carreer fairs here in San Jose alone so i would recommend you go there and give everyone you can your resume.

Same here, but I'm in New York City, and only 16 yrs old. No one hires kids, even though we're smarter then most of the so-called "experts".
