ok, i am setting up Internet Connection Sharing on my home netowork so all of my PC's can use my DSL connection. for some reason, the computer i'm using as the one which shares the connection CAN connect, but the other's cant. i think there are just some settings i have to do, but i have no idea which ones

here's how the computers look now:

comp1 - 169.254.0.1 (subnet mask: 255.255.0.0)
comp2(the one which is sharing) - 169.254.0.2(same subnet mask)
comp3 - 169.254.0.3(again, same subnet)

now, in the server i have 2 nic's, one which has the static ip, and one which is obtaining it automatically. the static IP is going to my linksys switch, and the other is going to my DSL modem. here's how it looks:

DSL>server>switch>other computers

they are all(except one) using Win98SE. the other is using Windows95(i can't change that fact)

the WINS settings and such are all blank, and i haven't changed anything. the computers can still see each other on the network, but they just can't connect. i am hoping someone here has used ICS and can tell me the settings that they have which work so i can try it out.

thanks a bunch :)

Install ICS configure tell it which NIC you want to use to connect to the internet, then tell it which NIC you want to use as the shared NIC. change ip address of the NIC that you are sharing so you can see the others on your LAN. setup "internet" NIC as you normally would. restart computer and everything should be fine. other computers should have "gateway" set as the computer with the "shared" NIC's IP number.
