i need a good tv tuner

i've been searching for a tv tuner so i can watch tv in my room since i replaced my tv with my computer. i can't seem to find any that have somewhat consistently good reviews. so does anyone know of any that work well with windows xp home edition? i'd like one that also does HDTV. there's just too many mixed reviews about some of them for me to make a decision yet.

Hauppage HVR-1600. It's got two separate tuners ATSC/HD (via antenna) and NTSC (via cable). Also has built-in hardware MPEG1/2 encoding.

I am using the AverTV combo PCIe (M780) with XP and GBPVR. the thing works wonderfully. it is PCIE x1 and has a single hardware MPEG2 analog tuner along with a digital tuner (not positive if it is HD, but for almost $100, I think it is). With this card, if you have analog and digital signals you can use it as a dual tuner card. I actually want another one now to put in my little pvr box.
Oh, and it is low profile compatible, but comes with both brackets.
