My friend wants to use a computer only for audio recording. He's got a pavilion 4450 that's been upgraded a little and he needs a good cheap audio recording soundcard. Any suggestions?
 
can't go wrong with the hammerfall cards, or the 1010 from maudio, the audiophile... any of the above. The straight converters are nice b/c you will soon be addicted to the world of boutique mic preamps and will want to be able to use them with your interface.
