Does anyone remember who on the board made awesome salsa? I remember talking to someone a year or two ago and they bottled/canned their own salsa.

I ended up going with the 9-cup KitchenAid with the smaller 4-cup insert. It arrived today, I'm setting it up now. It's chrome-alicious! It definitely adds some bling to my kitchen. It cleans up surprisingly easily; my bread machine is wrapped in brush aluminum and it's utterly impossible to get the fingerprints off. Looking forward to trying some new recipes over the weekend.

On a side note, anyone know how the heck to use this thing?? The instruction manual covers how to assemble it, but only has a couple pages on the actual functions. Guess I need to pick up one of those food processor books...

Press button if you want blade to turn. Unpress button when you want it to stop. Don't stick fingers in thing with blade spinning.

Seriously though, you just hold it down till you get the consistency you want. It doesn't take much time at all, seconds even. Or you can kind of "pulse" it. Practice with salsas and marinades/salad dressings.

Well, just thinking back to the old commercials..."It slices! It dices!" etc. I bet this thing could be used really creatively...

Anyhoo, I have a bunch of FP recipes to try it out with so I'll report back this weekend :)

My wife and I have a cuisinart rice cooker. It dosen't have an off switch!!!!!!

That's because it is not supposed to have one. It's a steamer/warmer. It's what we call old style (electric) rice cooker.

I have a Tiger (fuzzy logic model) and it has an Off button. Just depends on the model you get.
