Alright, since I'm not really counting on Cyberwings every coming back up, I need another good host. The site is currently hosted here and we get around 500+ unique hits a day (today was a slow day). Anyways, I've been checking out Terabyte.com and they look reliable, but compared to the $7 I was paying Cyberwings, look a little expensive for what I need it for. I mean, because once the site grows, then I can go out and get a bigger and better hosting plan.

Anyone know of any good, reliable, cheap hosting companies? And they have to have MySQL support. Thanks

I can vouch for Dixiesys. I'm getting 800MB's of storage and 15GB's of transfer and couldn't be happier. :D

I have Dixiesys too. REALLY fast setup. I like 'em.
They use the PLESK admin software which kicks ass too.

Another vote for dixie, When I emailed a question to them I would usually get a response back within 5-20minutes. That is service...

n00b question, but what's the difference between a "normal" web hosting account and a reseller account? is it just the fact that say, for example, the small reseller account, i can register 10 domain names and have them hosted on dixiesys for $10/month under that reseller account?

all i need to do now is to think up a domain name to register.. anyone have an unused professional sounding domain name they can spare? :) tia

Another vote for dixiesys.com
I've been with them since February and the service has always been fantastic. I even call and talk to the owner/admin and he's a really nice, customer service oriented businessman.

A question to all of you recommending dixiesys: You would'nt hesitate hosting a medium-sized commercial website there? Do you have any experience with downtime or server latency (the slows)?
I am a true noob at websites, thanks for any help:)
