I need a good brisket recipe

Have a slab of brisket in the frig. Need a good marinade/sauce for it. Give it up people.

good brisket needs only a dry rub and smoke.

OK you talked me into it. I'll give you my fathers recipe. Throw it on the grill that is too hot. Drink beer all day while dousing it with bbq sauce. Eventually start watching tv while drinking more beer. Wife goes out 6 hrs later and takes a brick of charcoal off the grill. On a 18 lb brisket she manages to salvage about 1 edible lb. Dad passes out before eating. Dad wakes up the next day asking "who ate all the fucking brisket last night"

Is this just a plain beef brisket or a corned one?

If it's just a plain brisket, what are you hungry for? Sweet? Smoked? Comfort food?

Once the above is done, I'd give it a minimum of 4hrs of smokey goodness, preferably 8-12hrs, slice thinly and add some spicy BBQ sauce and make brisket sandwiches.

Made a dry rub with chili powder, brown sugar, pepper, garlic, onion and a few other things. It's a cookin' now.
