Ok every time I try to tell people that AMD it better but then they say well intel is 3.4ghz when amd has 1.8ghz and 2.4ghz and so they say intel is faster but i dont know what to say about the ghz diff

If they still belive that higher ghz is always better, they wont understand many technical terms.

Just tell them that (at this time) AMD processors are more efficient, and thus can do the same amount of work at a lower speed.

One of the best ways you can explain it to some one that knows nothing about computers is compare them to Gas Vs. diesel engines.

Gas is fast but can't move alot of weght. While diesel isn't as fast, it can haul alot more at once making it better for big work loads.

Or something like that.

Edit: Oh, so he does know a good ammount about computers? Well tell him to look at more than one website for benchmarks and that just because the Intel really kicked but in 1 out of 10 Test doesn't make it "better".

If that doesn't work then he must be a "fanboy" as they are called. You can not use logic on thoes kind of people.

Don't worry, he will learn in time not to latch onto just one company.

OK BUT THAT STILL MABY TO COMPLICATED FOR THEM ITS NEEDS TO (sry caps) be something a 8 year old will understand and a very good point so thaey have nothing to say after i say that kinda thing i need

Just say: "STFU noob, AMD>INTEL!"

OR

just take Griswold's advice and don't bother, I know a couple people who still thinks intel is better than amd, it's useless to argue with them. They'll soon find out that amd is better/more efficient.

Think of it like a pissing contest. We want to see who can piss the most urine. Well, intel has a really fast but thin stream, while AMD has a slower stream that is wider. Hence, while AMD cant piss as hard (or fast), they can still get more piss out their dick.

Sorry if there are any ladies here 😱

Tell them to put their car in first gear and drive at 4000 rpm's, thats intel. Then tell them to put their car in third gear and drive at 2000 rpm's, thats AMD. Which car will be going faster?

Or compare it to AMD have an 18 wheeler and Intel having 3 pickup trucks. In the time it takes the 18 wheeler to haul a single load of widgets to it's destination, the whole Intel fleet makes a similar trip. Ask him if he thinks the 18 wheeler hauled more widgets or the 3 pickup trucks.

Another vote for don't bother. As much as it pains me, I regularly let people I know buy celerons and the like; the reality is it won't make any difference to them while they surf the net and play solitaire.

AMD is like an 8cyl car, Intel is like a 4 banger. The 4 banger can hit higher rpm's, but the 8cyl creates much more horsepower therefore it runs faster while using less rpms.

Thats about as simple as it gets, if they can't understand that they need a Dell.
