I'm looking for a good PC game to buy to play during this wonderful winter season. I'm looking fro suggestions. I played EQ for two years and got totally burnt out on it, so nothing that is similar (DAOC, AC2,etc). I was considering BF1942 - but I've heard mixed reviews about it. I need a GOOD game, something that isnt just mindles - something with some substance. I feel like I haven't played a really good game in a long time and the only thing I've been excited about for awhile is the upcoming Star Wars Galaxies. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Seriously, I was thinkign the same thing yesterday and came up with NOTHING. I dunno if you've played it yet, but if you've missed out on the experience, get Deus Ex. It's awsome to put it simply, and out on budget.

max payne might be old but its still a great game, fun to play.
 
Might not last as much of the winter season as Deus Ex though :/
Better still, get them both and it'll still be cheaper than a new game 🙂
 
GTA3, Medal Of Honor Allied Assult, Mafia, Max Payne, Hitman 2, Solider Of Fortune 2.

I personally loved Medal of Honor.. thought it was one of the best single player games ever. Hitman 2 is what I am currently playing, and it is pretty challenging, plus it makes you think a hell of a lot.. and it's a pretty long game.. i'm not even half way through it yet . Also, I heard good things about solider of fortune 2.. suppose to be a pretty hard game, with some nice eye candy as well
 
Splinter Cell , try the demo its quite interesting.. only thing is, u'll need quite beefy system., but if u do, it looks HELLA GOOD!
 
Warcraft III. Even if you don't like the game too much, the use map setting custom games are plenty and damn fun.

I second that. Splinter Cell is awesome! Also BF1942 is good, just make sure you have a speedy net connection.
