I want a game where you upgrade your stats, armor etc...kind of like Diablo.

I have a crappy laptop so it can't handle high graphic games, it can handle Diablo II just fine lol

I don't care if it's an old game, actually I want it to be old as I don't like all the fancy complicated new one's. I just want a good old build up your character and kill stuff kind of rpg or do they call it mmo? not sure what mmo even stands for :)

any who, any suggestions? I don't mind if it's online or something I have to install.

Is multiplayer important?

Torchlight is a pretty good game that's similar to Diablo, but it's single player only.
Titan Quest also is "Diablo-like." It's both single player and multiplayer.

I had a lot of fun playing through Titan Quest, which meets your criteria. Make sure you get the Immortal Throne expansion if you go that route, as it adds a lot of very useful gameplay features.

I haven't played Torchlight, so I can't say anything about that game.

MMO stands for Massively Multiplayer Online. It just means that there are thousands of people playing with you, instead of the small 8-64 man limits with most games. It really has nothing to do with RPG's, except that the most popular MMO's are RPGs.

Torchlight and Titan Quest are good suggestions. I've played both and they are very similar to Diablo. I'm not sure how demanding Titan Quest is though, or how bad your laptop is.

Another suggestion for Titan Quest/Torchlight.

I strongly suggest you post your laptop specs so we can give a more accurate suggestion. I believe Torchlight puts a lighter strain on your system but there's no multiplayer, unfortunately.

This. I'm playing through TQIT right now, and it's been a lot of fun for a pretty mindless hack-n-slash.

As Schadenfreude said, post your laptop specs for us. Titan Quest is much more demanding than Diablo 2, but it's much less demanding that modern games.

Titan Quest is pretty fun, if not a little repetitive. You can probably get it pretty cheap now.

It was $5 w/ the expansion pack on Steam a month or two ago. It's $11 shipped (plus tax) at Walmart right now.

If you do get TQ, you should install both TQ and TQIT and then the latest fanpatch. Also, be sure to play TQIT. This isn't a game where you play through the base game and then the exp. pack. The exp. pack adds content throughout the normal game that won't be seen if you play the base game, so you should always and only run the TQIT executable.

Yep, I got the pack from Steam for $5, but I can see it easily being worth ~$15 if you are into that type of game.
