My AP Euro class is having a Christmas class, and we have to bring a gag/funny gift that has a historical signifgance. I can't think of a thing. Any ideas?

Whoopee cushion...

The item was invented around 1940 by the Jem Rubber Co. of Toronto, Canada by employees who were experimenting with scrap sheets of rubber. The owner of the company approached Samuel Adams, the inventor of numerous practical jokes and owner of S.S. Adams Co., with the newly invented item. Adams said that the item was "too vulgar" and would never sell. Fortunately for Jem Rubber, other companies were approached and the product quickly proved to be a success.

i'm not sure i understand the premise of this activity...can you give us some examples or are you that clueless that you don't even know what it means?

Frisbee, invented by Marty McFly after being thrown at Buford Tannon, after he traveled back to 1885 to rescue his scientific genius friend Doc Brown. Subsequently, Doc brown would later invent the Flux Capactor which makes time travel possible, in addition to a cold fusion device that converts everyday garbage into a suitable fuel for Deloreans.

EDIT: Delorean -> Drug scandal -> Larry Flynt.
Flynt -> Hustler -> Supreme court case.

How about the old arrow through the head gag. Made famous by general Custer at the battle of Little Bighorn. Later to be imitated and made widely acceptable by Steve Martin

Fix up a severed head with a bouffant hairdo and tiara, put it on top of a cake with the writing - Let them eat cake - tell them it's Marie Antoinette if they can't figure it out for themselves.

LoL
I can't really think of examples, hence the reason I'm posting here. A gag gift with a relation to European history...

Chamber pot. These are still widely available, depending on where you live - call around to some antique stores to find one.

Get two of those red fake lip things at the party store.

Two lips? Tulips? Dutch? Get it?

Okay, you come up with something better.

how about

Just stand up in front of the class and claim yourself to be history in the making as the Sex God of the Milky Way, and all other universes and galaxies as soon as you find a way to travel to them. Then whip out the biggest ____ you can find and claim it be be a miniaturized version of your personal endowment.

Fill it with lemonade. (Make sure it doesn't have lead-based paint first.)

Their isn't a better all American gift you can find than the dribble-glass, or whoopie-cushion.
