I need a fix that is slightly less ghetto than duck tape.

The plastic/vinyl area where i keep my elbow on the door of my truck has worn and the soft plastic has cracked. I need some way to permanently patch it so my elbow isn't just getting jabeed by pointy plastic all the time. I know duct tape would do the trick, but im hoping some grease monkey here can enlighten me with an alternative more permanent do it yourself solution.

door panel from a junkyard? you could get another section of similar soft plastic and cut and form it to the shape of the arm rest, then just glue it on to cover the old also.

If you're looking for stylish, I've heard packing tape is the new duct tape, lol.

I'd say hit up a junk yard and get a better panel out of a wrecked truck.
