Anyone know where I can download this file?

It's the DOS configuration utility for a 3COM 509x ISA NIC. It let's you disable PnP and set the nic up manually. I need it because I'm running two identical NIC's in a linux router and they have the same sttings and it's choking.

It's not on 3com.com anymore, so links to 3com.com are useless.

Thanks for any information

It is part of the utilities or driver download at 3COM. That is where I got mine at. I am at work, but when I get home tomorrow if you haven't got it yet I can send it to you via email if you would like.

It's not in the current versions of the downloads from 3com.... That's why I said I didn't think it was posted there anymore. I've downloaded both of the 3c509x "disk" files, and neither of them have this file in them. All the DOS utilities are gone. I'll PM you later in the day Bob if I haven't found it yet.

hmmm. spoke too soon; that's the right filename, wrong file.

The file minendo found is the etherdisk 2.0 for my nic. It's a self-extracting archive. There is only one executable file in it and it is not the utility I need. That's what I found at the 3com website too.

The disk #2 is supposed to have the utility I need in it, but it doesn't. Has the readme for the config utility, but not the utility itself. Is this really as hard as it seems, or am I really overlooking something?

Pigtail.net

The "detective" disk is the right one. I've used it to setup a bunch of 509s by disabling PNP, resetting the IRQs, etc for Linux routers.
If you image it to a bootable CD it will run much faster which is nice when doing multiple cards. Good for many common NICs BTW.

freesco.info
Check the forums even if you run another single floppy distro. Lots of good NIC setup tips.
