I need a driver for Pioneer DVD Rom Recorder it is a dual layer DVR 109. for Win XP

Optical drives need drivers?
I dont even find drivers for that on the Pioneer site, only firmware downloads

Windows built-in drivers should work for reading from all CD / DVD drives.

For burning you want a software program like Nero not a driver.

You are both correct. Thank you. The computer installed the driver but I went looking for one when it informed me New hardware was connected, and I was chasing it without finding other than firmware as you said. So now I was able to work it.
