what do I do? just walk in there tell them I am sick and I need proof that I came to visit them?

All my prof needs is a note saying I went to visit the doctor.

I feel "blah", but I do not have a fever or show any symptoms. I just feel weak all around as if I am getting a bad cold.

My question is really .. do you think the clinic will provide some kind of note saying I came to visit them without me having a fever, etc?

My school has a particular note, the heading is something like 'student requests deferral due to illness) with a date, symptoms, doctor/nurse that you saw.

It's at the discretion of the prof as to whether they want to appease you or not though.

If you have no symptoms, you have to make them!

Go in sounding real weak, speak real slowly and wail + groan every now and then. Maybe say "i dont feeeeeell weelllll :(" and look unhappy. Then you will get a sick note for sure!

Yeah I've only managed to get a note three times.

Once when I had a blood clot in my left leg and I couldn't feel anything from teh waist down.

Once when I hadn't slept in a week.

Once when they had to send me to the hospital.

I went in to my University Health Services place and they said they couldn't give out notes. They also said professors were not allowed to ask for a note.

They told me that the teachers should know that they aren't supposed to ask for one and they directed me to give my teacher a link to the policy. I printed that up and handed it to him :p

Yeah, professors aren't privy to your health info. In WI (I'm not sure if this is nation-wide), employers and professors aren't allowed to ask for detailed sick notes. I think they can ask for proof that you went to the doctor, but they aren't allowed to know for what or how serious your illness was.
