I need a coffee machine

I need a new regular coffee maker, no esspresso capuccino magic machine. This current one isn't cutting it - some junk brand that never makes good coffee, even when using various combinations of good beans and filtered water, and running vinegar through regularly to clean it has been pretty much ineffective. I have a french press that works well but is not the most convenient. I think the problem is that it doesn't get the water hot enough. So who's got some recommendations? $$$ is always a concern.

It looks like a list from consumer reports. I'll check here in a few hours.

Over the years, I've found it's hard to beat the value of a Mr. Coffee machine.

Had multiple Zojurushi's, Brauns, etc, turned them over on eBay after a few months, always ended up with a Mr. Coffee...

I currently have a Chinese knock off of an Italian espresso machine and it'll have to be pried out of my cold dead hands for the price... Text Amazon couldn't move them, they sold a few with no holes in the basket, dropped the price & I paid $100 for it... Back up now.

The Mr. Coffee I bought at costco didn't get the water hot enough.

my wife is a coffee snob, and she's actually really happy with the free one she got from gevalia for signing up for their coffee of the month club.
it cost 30 bucks a month, and she canceled after a couple months (you get about 30 bucks worth of beans every month too)

Mr Coffee rarely lets me down. Also, Dark helmet always has his coffee while looking at Mr Radar... Be careful though, it's hot.

This, but may I add I find it distrubing you're the only one to recommend a Keurig so far. You people don't know what you're missing.

I am pro-keurig and GMCR, as I own a b70 and their stock too, but OP wants a CHEAP coffee maker, and Keurig ain't cheap in a long run. Anyway, a min b30 can be had for around $60, plus 30cent a k-cup, might be out of his price range.

I'm on my second cup this morning. But unless you pick up the pods on sale, the cost per unit can get daunting (or I'm just too stingy).

A valid point, so it's a good thing that once a month Amazon sells a couple of 2-box packs (48 K-Cups) for ~$15 shipped with Prime.
