I wish I had a picture of this, but I don't have the means to take one right now.
I have small-to-medium-sized tv cart that rests on four circular disc-shaped feet with black, rubber foot pads. My 250-lbs TV has been on it for about 6 months. The floor is hardwood. The weight of the TV has caused those footpads to leave black markings on the floor (a perfect outline of the pads). The markings don't seem to have caused physical damage, for when I rub my finger along them the wood feels perfectly smooth still, without the slightest hint of an impression. So I think it's just some sort of deep marking comprised of the actual rubber of the footpads. But I cannot seem to rub it off in the least. I try to scratch it with my fingernail and there's no change.
So far, I've only tried cleaning with just a soft rag and some water, and also with the Swiffer hardwood floor mop. I need to take this up a notch. Any ideas?
