So I need to buy a program to monitor my chipped Audi, but I don't have a laptop. The program requirements are here.

But if you're too lazy to click on the link....

Q: What are the computer requirements

A: We recommend a Pentium-100 with 16MB of RAM and Windows 95 or newer. Windows 98, ME, NT4, 2000, and XP are all fine. Available disk-space is a total non-issue, VAG-COM requires less than 1 MB. The PC MUST have an available RS-232 Serial port. USB is not supported.

My question is: Where should I buy (ebay?) and what OLD laptops are reliable. I won't use it for anything besides this, and again, it NEEDS the RS-232 Serial port. Thanks!

The budget is as cheap as possible since the only thing I want it for is running the above mentioned program. I'm trying for around $150-$200...I hear the Toshiba Libretto is a pretty good one (for automotive applications like this) due to it's small size.

If you want a reliable old laptop then there are three things you need to remember:

I

B

M

A P166 ThinkPad 560 should be pretty cheap, and it's also small.
