My Dad is retired and lives on a pretty limited income, so he can't afford to spend tons of money on a new TV. Since he doesn't know a whole lot about electronics, he has asked me to find one for him. He wants to spend no more than $500.
I want to make sure he gets as much tv as possible for his money. What I would like him to get is an HDTV, possibly 16x9 aspect ratio (16x9 is my preference, but would take 8x10 if the tv was right). I've shopped around and found a few 16x9 CRT 26"-28" sets in the $400 - $500 neighborhood. I would possibly recommend buying a larger refurbished set if the price was right and the seller had a good reputation.
Does anyone have any recommendations or know of any hot deals (closeouts, etc.)? Are there any good web sites where hot deals on tvs are posted?
