Don't do it...

Save your money and buy the stuff when you can actually afford it...

That Capitol One looked attractive 9.9% isn't the lowest you can go but it's getting there. Besides what do you need to purchase w/ this anyways? Cant you get those 0% financing things from BestBuy/CC/GoodGuys?

Ditto! The thread should end now.

What if you want one for ordering things online, etc? (if you DO have the money)

That's a whole different story. Nothing wrong with that. But why would you want to put yourself into debt? Not a smart move!

Actually, I stand by this philosophy almost to the T. I have no CC debt because of it.

The reason I need a CC is because I am going to be moving into a new apt, and I need to buy a couch/tv/receiver and I don't have the cash up front. (Well I do, but it will be going to other things.) So if I can get something with very low APR I can pay it off in a few months.

Then you don't really need to care about APR, since you know you will pay it off every month anyways... just find one with no monthly fee and cost you the least to get...

Although I do not advocate carrying a balance, you can get an Amex Blue with a 6 month intro APR of 0.0%.

I got 6 months interest free financing on my sofa, two years on some stuff from BB. Most furniture places will give you interest free financing if you ask for it.

Most CC's initially won't let you charge up much of a balance anyway. My BP Visa was like $2000 (It's $12,000 now and I pay it off every month)

Edit: BB has interest free financing with their card all the time. I think its 90 days for most purchases, some stuff is longer, check the website.
