I need a better score with 3dMark03

I'm pretty sure this forum would be the place to ask...might be "off-topic"...but it's my first post.

Anyways, I'm getting around 9500-9800 marks in 3dMark03 Pro with this set-up:

AMD Athlon-64 3500 @ stock speeds
MSI Nvidia 6800GT @ 360/1025 speeds ( Driver = 71.90 ForceWare )
1024 MB Corsair XMS Dual-Channel pc3200
Mainboard = Asus A8V-K8T800 Via CHipset ( With the chipset at the latest v455 version)
No AA/AF/VS and they're all non-application controlled

Now, I should be getting a much better score. Hell, I've seen people with an older box get better score even without massive ocing. What seems to be the deal?

Run the default tests in the pro version, or simply download and install the free one.

Yeah, your score is a bit low, as others have said, try using older drivers, I have seen definate differances between driver versions(benchmark wise that is, not really noticable in real applications). I have mine running at 375/1050.
EDIT: p.s. I am using the 61.77 drivers.

Sadly enough, I tried the methods posted in this topic but I still see no improvement whatsoever.

I wonder what is going on....

Uninstall drivers using Add/Remove & Driver Cleaner then install the desired drivers. Also dont let those high scoring old boxes ruin your day, thoses pro owners turn off the CPU tests to get amazing scores.

Yes try this and if that doesnt work I couldnt tell you what is wrong. Spyware maybe?

Well, I'm pretty conviced something is wrong.

Running 3dmark03 without CPU and sound tests gave me around 11k...which is only about 1k increase...which is still pretty low.
I ran the FFXI Benchmark, and I should have gotten around 7k ( I've read reports on the benchmark by people with nearly the same setup as I ), but instead I got around 3k.

Perhaps it is spyware. Does any recommend a free ( or...one that I might "obtain" ) spyware/adware removal program?

Also, would it have to do anything with the PSU?

My guess is that it's your chipset drivers. Have you tried cleaning/reinstallng them. Maybe try an older set.
I was getting only 8300 on my setup, then I cleaned/installed new chipset drivers and it went to 11300 with everything at stock speeds.

Does anyone know the best driver for VIA K8T800 Pro? I installed the Hyperion drivers that came with my motherboard but that didn't give me any increase in performance.

AA/AF is off, and aren't application controlled.

try setting everything off and details at the lowest, and get the right driver, probably check your ram timings?
