i need a battery...

i need a rechargable battery that connects to a port like the one circled in this picture (Text) that could power it for about two or more hours without needing recharging

anyone know of one or where i might find something like this?

Wouldn't be hard to make one... Even Radio Shack has DC power connectors like that. You just need to know what the load will be so you can decide what type of batteries and how many you'll need to use. Could use anything from a batch of AA or D cells to a single gelled lead-acid battery.

heh, i wouldnt trust anything [like that] that i put together myself
i saw one at wal mart or something...designed for portable DVD players as a backup battery but it connected to that kind of port

Depending on how 'portable' it needs to be, you could use one of those portable 12 volt power packs and buy a car adapter if the vendor for your rig sells them. What is it your trying to power? The biggest issues are what voltage you need to supply and the polarity of the plug. If you knew those, you can start searching aftermarket for a laptop battery pack.

im trying to use the psu in that pic to power a mini-ITX system...
so 17cm^2 mobo with integrated 1GHz cpu, laptop hard drive, slim dvd-rom drive, 6" LCD screen
battery can be no bigger than 6.75x7.25x1.25

i dunno what you mean
but the port i circled is where you connect the power source to the psu (the same function of the big plug on the back of ATX psu's)

Do you have that power source? Is it just a cord that plugs into the wall?
If it has a square block in the wire, it is likely an AC to DC power adapter and will have numbers on it for output voltage and a symbol for polarity. If so, you should be able to use it to purchase a battery pack with the same plug from a local PC shop, especially one that deals with laptops.

i'ld support radio shack also. for an alternative try here Thomas Battery; they've been pretty good when i've looked for hard to find batteries and connectors

Ok, you also need one of the AC to DC power blocks they show as related items to make that power supply work. The board you show is a 12V DC input to +12 -12 +5 regulator board for the components but doesn't actually change the AC house supply to DC.
There isn't enough info on the battery pack or the ac to dc block to know for sure if that battery will work. The best thing to do is wait till you get the power block and bring it with you to buy a battery. Any universal external laptop battery should work, hard to say about the battery you linked to. Be careful that the plug polarity is correct before plugging any battery into your power supply. The polarity should be on the AC to DC power block when you buy it.
Another concideration is how many amp hours the battery will supply. I haven't looked into this personnaly, but you may want to check what external laptop batterys provide for amp hours that are expected to run a laptop x hours and compare that to the amp hours of the battery you linked to. The DVD battery may be cheaper, but if it doesn't last long enough, it may be a waste of money even if it will fit your power supply.

Oh, if you don't plan on running this off house power, email the sites support for the polarity needed for the dc to dc power supply input plug. It will be one polarity for the center and another for the outside of the plug. If you plan to use this in a car primarily, you could skip a battery and get a cord to plug into a lighter socket.
