Does anyone here have a Dlink Wireless router DI-524 and wireless card DWL-G510, if so I need some help, I went from an old 802.11b Linksys router to this 802.11G and now I am trying to get the security setup on this thing, everything connects fine to both the internet and my LAN, I just am lost on WPA, WEP keys and such. I thought you could specifically bind this router to a specific MAC address, I have 2 wireless machines that need access right now but none else, and I can?t find anything in the setup for this. Again any tips/help would be appreciated if anyone is familiar with this setup since I really need to lock this wireless access point down.

Here's the Dlink DI-524 support page. No mention of MAC address control setup in the FAQ but poke around, maybe you'll find the answer.

From the DI-524 manual: To access the Router Configuration Menu, access it via http://192.168.0.1/ and type in "admin" into the user name field (leave Password blank).

In the Configuration Menu:

To bind the router to a specific MAC address, go to HOME>WAN>Dynamic IP Address->Clone MAC Address (assuming you want to present your ISP a specific MAC address for access).

To allow or deny specific computers via their MAC addresses, go to Advanced>Filters>MAC Filters and enable or disable this function.

Hope this helps.

I have this router also, and while I don't know about your specific question, I would steer you to the Dlink web site where they have a great knowledge base for problems. Great info on opeing ports etc for a lot of different games, apps, etc.
