My brother's ECS MB died.
He wants replace it; with some thing better.
My Fav use to be Abit for Budget (Back in P3 Days)
All rounder use to be shuttle
If I have money I use to go for Asus.
I been out of the loop; for now. SO I dont know what is Good and what is bad.
I do not mind Every thing built in. Perfer its own chipset not host off CPU.
This is what I am looking
He will not Over Clock
It will go with Intel P4 Prescott 3.4 Ghz (478 Scoket)
Built in Video Card (DX9)
Built in FireWire
Built in Sound Card
Built in Modem and Nic
Would like to have P875 Chipset or some better or same (Via, etc)
4 Memory Socket; so I can do Dual Memory Channe
Dual IDE, Sata is nice but dont have a use at this time.
I thought of IC7 from Abit .. ... but then It may not be best in the market
What you all say ?l

You're not going to find that combination with DX9 class integrated graphics in a Socket 478 platform. You would need to go with Socket 775 P4. The closest you'll find for Socket 478 is the Asus P4R800-V Deluxe with DX8.1 class ATI Radeon 9100 Pro IGP. It has most everything you listed except for built-in modem (??). Its also about $125.

There are several other Radeon 9100 IGP boards out there but the Asus P4R800-V Deluxe was the only board I found with Firewire on-board. You could skip the on-board Firewire and buy an add-in Firewire PCI controller, or combo USB2.0 + Firewire PCI card, which can be had fairly cheap (<$20).

Intel's "Extreme Graphics" series are just plain bunk. The only thing they're good for is a bit of PhotoShop, and FreeCell. If he wants ANY 3D acceleration worth a damn at all, he's gonna have to get an add-in card. As tcsenter said, the Asus P4R800-V Deluxe is about as close as you're gonna get to any worth-a-damn 3D accelleration integrated.
