Sadly, the neighbor's dog probably possesses greater grammar/spelling skills than you.

Years ago I had a neighbor who's dogs would never shut up. I talked to and talked to the neighbor but it did no good.
So one day when they were on a tear, I took the garden hose and gave them a shot of water. When the neighbor came home he asked me how his dogs got wet and I told him. He didn't seem to care.
After about 3 times of hitting them with the water, they would shut up every time they heard the sliding door to my back yard open up.
I felt a litlle guilty but they were obnoxious as hell and it was only water.

fixed!

So that's how you parse it! But then how can you be your own neighbor's dog... That would be a complicated set of residences.

It was winter but I live at the South Pole so your winter is our summer.

That's why I hate dogs, well one of the reasons anyway. Mouthy little assholes. A dog barking is one of the worst sounds in the world.

i thought the sound of a child giving an opinion on a topic was worse.

It depends on the child, just like adults. I figure the majority are just wasting breath, and most are dumb as rocks. It's always a pleasure to here a well considered opinion from either. Worst case scenario, and you're talking to a moron, it's much easier to tune out than a yapping dog is.

I had never actually thought about this before, but now that you mention it, I have to agree.

Some breeds bark more than other breeds. Some bark to warn others to "keep out, this is the yard that I guard." If that's the case, it's a shame that your neighbors chose a breed that's going to bark a lot. We have a Great Pyrenese, and she's a barker. I don't punish her for barking - that's her job. We used to have neighborhood dogs that occasionally strolled through our yard, now any loose dogs stay clear of our yard.

Some breeds are more territorial than others. The barking is to tell everyone to get away and sure enough as soon as the dog barks the people/kids/whatever keep on walking and go away. The dog figures it's working.
