Doesn't surprise me. OLED's are crazy expensive.

The $494.99 everyone is talking about is for the Maltron keyboard, not the cool one being talked about.

A Q-Bert screensaver on your keyboard would be damn cool! Maybe a matrix green screen one too.

Regardless, I could see this thing being around $500 if it's ever made.

Sexy, very sexy. I just hope that the software interface to program it doesn't suck. Ideally, it'd be a fully open and flexable protocol. You could do some very, very cool stuff with something like that.

I would probably pay $250 for it if it's well made and the software worked well. I'd wait for a community of icon developers to grow first though. Also would like to see how well it holds up.

Agreed 100%

People all too often overlook the mouse and the keyboard, our basic input devices.

the price is too steep for a keyboard. but yeah, hopefully by then i would have a kick ass job for me to spend my money on. and it would be freaking awesome if it has the break in the middle.

definitely a geek deal...I remember in some class we had keyboard map pages in a manual (blank keyboard, you write the functions you programmed down)....

I did pretty well getting the characters on them just messing around. I mixed up a few shift keys though. Today I think I could be 100% accurate based on the keyboard I am using now.

I prefer the ergonomic style though, a la original microsoft. Today's compact versions are not as comfortable.
