Do you get mad that microwaves don't come with food in them?

Last time I checked, when you press the number pad on them they function. They may not cook anything but hey....

No no no, that comparison fits the person who forgot to buy paper for their printer.

is this the dell printer that was on hot deals few days ago?

It clearly states that the printer cable is not included.... which was one of the reasons I didn't buy it

every printer ive ever purchased came with full ink

I don't get all these ideological comparisons. You guys are just twisting words to fit your own conclusions. If the printers do not come with the wire, it does not function. That's it. Even if it did say it on the box, I find it dumb.

Yes, I know refrigerators don't come with food as well as most things don't come with batteries either, but most people have a stalk pile of batteries (and food) laying around for convenience anyway . Since both food and batteries are vital and are a necessity. However a communications wire is not!

Should I have to stalk pile USB printer wires next to my food and batteries now?

Just bought a Konica-Minolta 1350W (the Staples deal in Hot Deals), and had to deal with this same crap. Worst part of it is, they use those stupid USB-B cables (the ones that look like a baseball home plate) instead of the typical rectangular A cables. I have a bunch of A-A cables lying around my apt, but I'm almost positive that printers are the only peripheral that use a B-A cable. Stupid.

Actually, *ALL* USB peripherals I've seen that don't use some proprietary junk use USB-B connectors.

Hubs, scanners, printers, media readers, drive enclosures, etc.

Really? My 7-in-1 media reader, webcam, MP3 player, camera, and scanner all use the typical A plug. And the funniest part of that is, all of them (except the printer, of course) came with USB cables. Go figure.

I've never seen a usb peripheral that uses A-A. Either 1) it's built in, 2) it's A-B, or 3) it's one of the micro USB-A. Odd that you managed to hit most of your peripherals w/ A-A. Every printer I've seen is A-B as well.

And at least 5 years ago, every HP printer came w/ an economy cart which was roughly half full of ink. It was never explicity clear I don't believe, but not sure about now. My canon s820 came will full ink. I bought a 2nd one because after rebates it was the same cost as buying a full set of ink for it :)

And you can buy a cable via the Net and have it delivered in 2 days for $3

I recently bought a HP printer and it came with a USB cable. It originally didn't, but they had a sticker put on saying it was included.

The newest low-end printers don't come with full ink/toner; it's usually only half-full to encourage you to buy more razors(er, I mean ink) sooner.
