Looking at Waze, thought the camera icon meant somebody had taken a photo of dead traffic. Couldn't find the pic.
Checked the legend. Its a traffic cam.
I never even think of traffic cams. Im always going the speed limit.

Traffic cameras in Waze are far more useful when you probably can't drive fast. Think about snow. It is great to know if the roads are mostly clear and traffic is moving mostly normally or if there are a dozen cars spun off the road and the few remaining cars are crawling on the road.

It has very little to do with speeding.

Waze shows you where the cameras are. The states have the camera images. Various apps combine the two. Why don't you want to be able to do that? Waze doesn't need the images itself.

You are correct that Waze is also used to avoid tickets. Guess what, they also show where police speed traps have been reported! Did you not read the description or install screen or opening screen at all? But the camera locations are far more useful for knowing if it is safe to drive.
