I miss the Logitech MX Revolution

I bought two of these during their hayday and I still use one of them--the other got buggy and I wasn't sure if it was an IRQ (resource) issue, an optical issue or a wireless issue.

I also used several of the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 3.0. Now both remaining single units are showing an end of life by the dreaded double-click when you click the button once.

I thought about buying a Logitech Performance MX, but the reviews example my wife's [bad] experience with terrible battery life. Even the latest reviews on Amazon from this month show the same poor battery condition and the product is EOL.

I am not sure I would pay $100 for a current Logitech mouse and Microsoft doesn't have a nice evolved version of the Intellimouse Optical. I feel so old for needed older technology. And old technology in mice isn't something that can work as I'd just another double-clicking mouse with poor battery life.

Anyone else miss these mice?

I have the above posters linked mouse, have had it for years. Works great! Battery life isn't great, but its rechargeable, and comes with a long enough cord that you can use it as a wired mouse as its recharging if you are doing marathon gaming... such as the diablo 3 season 4 opener tomorrow that i'll be doing. I'm ready to go! :)

I have a mx revolution for sale on craigslist and I prefer the shape to my current g700s but I like not having to cradle it to charge.

So, I did nothing and then this past weekend the wife shows me a deal on Amazon for the Performance MX for $41.xx. I ordered two of them and then I see an email from Amex saying I met the requirements for $15 off. Apparently the wife signed up for a $15 off promo if using our Amex on Amazon.

Haven't tried them yet, but I think I got a decent deal.

you could just buy another intellimouse; probably $20 from ebay / amazon.

ofc there are alternatives, depends on what you need the mouse for.

The mouse I really miss is the MX510. That was a great mouse.

I have no idea why I "upgraded".

I had the Revolution for years and recently switched to a performance and to me it's better in every way. I hated the charging dock, I can use this one while it's charging, I can buy whatever mAh battery I want to use in it and even if it doesn't like to charge certain rechargeables, I have a separate charger. I use my computer every day for video editing, Photoshop, productivity and never have it die in less than a week, and then, like I said, I charge it while I'm using it. I used to have to go through a whole routine of bringing out my wired mouse while the Revolution charged on that annoying cradle. Just my opinion of course, but the Performance is better in every way, including ergonomoically. Ignore the incessant comments about the awful placement of the back and forward keys. You'll get used to it, it's not the end of the world.

I loved the Revo, the Performance one seemed ok so I picked the G700 instead. MX Master seems to be a true successor of the Revo based on reviews.

The packaging was void of a) software, and b) recharging block. It assumes you will plug into a USB port on a computer and charge from there. Two issues in the time I have spent with the Performance MX mouse:

First issue was immediately observed when enabling the free-spin mouse wheel. If you make any motion with the mouse itself there is an induced scrolling affect. If I push the squishy mouse wheel button to disallow the free-spin nature this goes away. I loved the free-spin mouse wheel on the Revolution and this behavior was present on that old mouse.

Second, there is a bit is studdering when moving the mouse across the desktop landscape. Almost as if the mouse's ability to keep up is last century technology. Its not me and I am not on those kinds of drugs. Its the mouse. Wondering if there is an issue between the USB3 interfaces and the wireless wort that the mouse uses.

I love my G700 - very similar to the Revolution line. It's got the free-spin wheel too, which is awesome for large spreadsheets, websites, or stress-relief :)

I have a performance MX at home and bought a marathon for work. The marathon works great, and battery life...well, it is a marathon...

It has very similar ergonomics, though it's a bit smaller, an it doesn't have quite as many buttons, though I never used all of the buttons on the performance MX.
