I miss the kitties

Had two cats- one for ~14yrs, the other for about 16 1/2. The second died just about a year ago. Both cats developed renal failure at exactly the same time- the first one wouldn't tolerate me giving her IV fluids every other day so I had to put her to sleep. The second was much more tractable and I gave her IV fluids every other day for approx 2 1/2 years before she declined rapidly.

I'll probably get more cats eventually, but after giving one cat such intensive care for so long I don't know if I want to jump right back in so soon.

I always wanted to get cats on my terms, which is to find one in the wild. That's how I got my first, and after she died it took a couple years, but I got 2 more the same way. Great kitties. You'll know when you see the right one.

That lion cub won't do too much harm. Not for another 3 months or so. Then, yes, you'd be correct.

As far as them both "getting into something", I don't think so. Inside cats, never went out. Outside of the food and water, I don't know what else could have caused it. Just a sad coincidence.

They weren't exactly kittens. They lived long lives, 17yrs is pretty long after all, but I still miss them. I really miss having to give the cat IV fluids every other day for close to 3yrs. That's a lot of work. They were good company though.
