I miss Slot 1!

I had a couple of PIII's on a P3V4X running 166FSB with that alpha cooler. Oh the days!

has a pentium 3 ever overclocked to 2ghz? that'd be pretty fast.

i have two 1.4ghz 512k PIII-S cpu's, the fastest p3, but no mobo for them.

Those things still work great for server duties lol. I think those 1.4/512s were faster than the Socket 423 P4s in most things.

Slot 1 Celeron 300a @ 450mhz default voltage, stock cooling, SL32A Malaysian chip. Man that is burned into my head. I remember hunting all around for a SL32A Malaysian and it paid off. I actually ran it at 512 i think.

Feh, what I miss are CPUs that didn't need loud and fancy cooling in the first place.

Ya, I remember that.

I still have a couple slot 1s around (a 733 and something around a 550).
Both still work great.

I had a P233mmx from Step Thermodynamics that had a bonded thermoelectric cooler on it. Man that little chip ran quiet!!
