I miss my dad

yes

but i don't miss him on a daily basis

i am 39

he lives 2000 miles away, i see him every 1-2 years. he was a workaholic when i was young. i inherited that from him

I see my dad nearly every Saturday for lunch, and various occasions throughout the year. So yes, I do still have a good relationship with my dad, but we aren't very close.

Thanks for the replies.

My dad lives over 2000 miles away and doesn't use the phone very well, so we don't talk much.

I haven't talked to my father since I left home when I was 18. That was over 13 years ago, and I've been better off without him.

I plan to piss on his grave. 😀

That's right old man! I'm gonna get jou!!!

My dad was killed in a helicopter crash in 1966 when I was 3 years old. I still miss him. You guys should be thankful that you at least had the chance to get to know your Fathers.

sucks for you man...

I don't see him overly frequently, he's like 1 hour away or so.
Were both really busy and it's tough. We talk, like men should, but not like women.

Not from my perspective. See the part I highlited above??

I see my old man on saturdays when possible. Usually its every saturday during baseball season so we could watch the Mets together while drinking some fine beer. Of course by fine beer I really mean crappy coors light or something cheap. 😉

I miss my brothers a lot more than my dad - He's old school so we still have the father - son relationship going on even at 34 and 70 repectivly. My dad is still my role model but toned down a bit. The man still works 70 hours a week at a breathtaking pace and runs 7 miles a day dispite having more money than he could ever spend. I go fishing or golfing with my dad at least once a month.

It will be two years this May 17 that I lost my father, and I lost my mother 3 years ago this June 6. I miss both of them like crazy. No one has or ever will care about me like they did. To be honest I am just getting over their deaths. I also am 36 years old. Remember to be good to your parents while you still have them.

This thread makes me miss my dad. He lives 3700 miles away from me (as does my whole family, really). I'm 27. He's been my hero and role model and teacher my entire life. When my grandfather died in 2001, I remember watching my dad, see his dad in the coffin, and I shivered because I never want to have to be in that position. I wanted to cry. No one on earth means 1/2 as much to me as my dad. I talk to him via phone several times a week, for an hour or more. I am very grateful that I have him for a father.

I miss my father because he's in the hospital fighting a life threatening illness. 🙁

He will never come home again. If he survives, he will end up in a nursing home.

I will be visiting my dad tommorrow afternoon before i go to work.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know he knows how much you love him.

I've seen my father maybe 10 times in my life. Between himself and my mother, I'm amazed my IQ is over 75. Guess there's more to it than genetics. That or a hospital mixup. When he dies I won't care at all.

Mine's been gone 3 years this August. Every day he's missed, and I believe always will be.

I hated my dad when i moved outta home @ 17.

I now somewhat understand why he was the way he was, but i haven't forgiven him for the way he treated me as a teen.

I see him once & a while @ family events, & while we talk, it's all superficial on my part really, since i really can't handle thinking about how difficult he was on me as i grew up...
