sweet, I was thinking of getting a 1968 for my next project.
From personal experience, Buy an SVO Crate motor from FORD. Drop that in, spend your money on a Competiton rear end and tranny and front end gear.
Strip it completely and re do all the welds and paint and primer ( or Powder coat) everything to the correct color.
5 point harness and roll cage, if your thinking of SCCA racing.
Get ready to make some Ricers and 'Vette owners sad boys.
<built a 1965 Mustang GT like that. HOT car.

Have you located one yet? They are going for serious bucks these days in good shape and still pretty expensive if not and the costs associated with fixing them up add up quite quickly. I have been restoring Mustangs for 25 years so if you need any help or advice just PM me and I will do what I can.

Multiple redneck trucks. Present tense and plural.

Not that the nasty 500 cid caddy(675 ft/lb before intake and carb) in the big traveler or the mud engine (392 with mopar wedge pistons, pushing over 450hp and 600 ft/lb on a .601 lift cam) in the scout cant do?

The hotrod scout runs a low 12. Its only downfall is it weighs about 5500 lbs.

If it doesn't have any rust and all the parts are there then you can't go wrong if you think you can reassemble a vehicle you have no experience with and didn't take apart yourself.

I haven't seen it yet. When I go to MI over the holidays I will peep at it.

Oh my dad has. Hes a big ford fanboy, hes had about a half dozen stangs before I was born. If I can't figure her out, he should have no problem. (less the past 20 years of drinking massive amounts of rum....hmmm)

If MI is Michigan then I have a bad feeling that it will be a rust bucket. Be very careful because there are tons of places on a Mustang for hidden rust so look it over very carefully.
