It takes a special kind of 'stupid' to try and sell someone a pirated movie/CD, but to actually advertise on Craigslist? This is local too, not some spam advertisement. Oh, the possibilities.

That is all.

Big business, unfortunately. Not sure why you think the guy is stupid. He' making money and odds of him getting caught are close to zero percent.

Pretty common in the less well off portions of earth, it's usually more like cost + 50cents though.

Well I've never seen a posting on CL in my area for something like this before. It's too bad that they can't be baited and caught instead of just having their posting wiped off of CL.

There's a lot of petty crime on craigslist and other sites/places. Not worth it too police. There's bigger fish to fry.

Well, maybe where you live. Knowing this area, something like this would end up making the news.

I don't know what government agencies typically deal with stuff like this in the UK, but you might try to find out and report this. And if bootlegger pwnage ensues, please update your post with the whole story.

Bootleggers just piss me off. First of all, they take advantage of people who are too stupid to realize they could get this content for free on any number of P2P networks, not to mention they are profiting off the work of others. I'm not going to claim I don't download, but when you start making money off piracy, I think that's really crossing the line.

edit: Nevermind, it's in the US. I think the FBI deals with stuff like this, but probably only bothers going after very large bootlegging operations. Maybe the best place to start would be the Birmingham PD.

The better question is why are you looking at this instead of ads for hookups? ;)
